Although a small amount of fresh outside air is necessary in your home, too much air infiltration will adversely affect your home’s energy efficiency, and your wallet!
To measure your home’s air infiltration, it’s advisable to have a BLOWER DOOR TEST performed. Depending on the program selected, this test may have an additional fee, but is well worth the results.
Did You Know
As much as half of your household energy use goes to heating and cooling. If your home has air infiltration & leaks, your losing money!
How do you test for Air Infiltration
- A blower fan and plastic panel are attached/affixed to an exterior door.
- The fan extracts inside air to the outside which creates an inside air vacuum.
- The vacuum pressure results are then revealed on an air pressure monitor, which will indicate how much air infiltration your home is receiving.
- While the blower fan is still running, we will perform a walk through inspection to feel for leaks around openings (air infiltrations will be evident).
